King ParakramaBahu - 1965-1968

Currency Notes issued between 1965 and 1968 by the Central Bank of Ceylon with the drawing of statue of Sage Pulasthi in Polonnaruwa, Sri lanka. This statue is popularly refered to wrongly as the Statue of King ParakaramaBahu I (1053-1086) considered the Golden Era of Sri Lanka's History.. Mrs Sirimavo Bandaranaike PM of the SLFP lost the Election on 1965 March 25th to Mr Dudley Senanayake of United National Party (UNP).

Large SPECIMEN diagonally upwards across on both sides.
Start prefix with 00000 Serial as in issued currency note. Horizontally separated double punch holes in the middle space used for the signatures. No specimen control number.

Specimens with Prefix Serial range found online of Rs50, Rs5 and Rs2 notes Prefix Serial on lower left is First and upper right is Last of print order. Outline of inscription Horizontally Punched with tiny holes (Perfin). The Rs50 has at bottom center and the Rs5 and Rs2 has over the signatures. No red SPECIMEN stamp or large punch holes.
