King ParakramaBahu - 1965-1968
Currency Notes issued between 1965 and 1968 by the Central Bank of
Ceylon with the drawing of statue of Sage Pulasthi in Polonnaruwa, Sri lanka.
This statue is popularly refered to wrongly as the Statue of
King ParakaramaBahu I
(1053-1086) considered the Golden Era of Sri Lanka's History..
Mrs Sirimavo Bandaranaike PM of the SLFP lost the Election on 1965 March 25th to
Mr Dudley Senanayake of United National Party (UNP).

sequence of Elephant, Horse, Lion and Bull in annulus, and
equal total of 13 swans in inner annulus, along with various

Micro-printing repeated in a range of varying small sizes in
Sinhala,

upper and lower border.
Although the general layout of all the notes are similar, the shape
and location of each of the elements are slightly different for each
of the denominations.
Note that the Value in Tamil on front has moved from Bottom right to the Box in center.

Among the five denominations, each issued on 1 to 4 dates, there are 2
different signature pairs. There are 7 dates, six (1965-67) with
first and one (1968) with second. There were single Finance Ministers
and two Governors of Central Bank within 2.3 years Both signature
pairs and Five of the dates are represented above.
The notes were scanned at 300 dpi and displayed at 50 dpi.
