Specimens 1917-1939

The Ceylon Board of Commissioners of Currency issued Bi-face currency notes of One, Two, Five, Ten, Fifty, and Thousand Rupee denominations dated from 1917 to 1939 with legal statement Promises to pay the Bearer on Demand the Sum of ... RUPEES.

Red SPECIMEN not stamped on any of the Specimens.
Punched with small holes in all but the two Rs10 and the Rs50 specimen.
Two holes punched in large 1928 Rs5 over signatures, single hole in small 1929 Rs10 and Rs50.

I thank the owner for the contribution of images of the very rare 1931 Rs50, and 1934 Rs1000 Specimens which he had obtained by private sale.
