The notes were demonetized with all notes dated before January 1, 1940 on 1946 April 13th and ceased to be legal tender with effect July 31, 1946.

Percy Siganporia, a specialist collector of Rs10/- notes, has Rs10 with Serial C/51 42137 dated 1927-9-1 and reports that Krause Catalog mentions a 6.1.1927 date which is unknown. As extreamly unlikely to have 2 dates in 1927, it is probably a not uncommon typo in Krause SCWPM which is even there in the Krause SACPM catalog of 1982.
