2010 - Sri Lanka - Specimen notes
Development, Prosperity and Dancers

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) issued, for circulation, a new series of currency notes on the "Development, Prosperity and Sri Lanka Dancers" theme on 2011 February 4th, dated 2010-01-01. Printed by DeLaRue, Biyagama, Sri Lanka.

Gold 153x67 mmRs5000 note
Green 148x67 mmRs1000 note
Purple143x67 mmRs 500 note
Orange138x67 mmRs 100 note
Blue 133x67 mmRs 50 note
Maroon128x67 mmRs 20 note

The Specimens issued for all six denominations of these notes had the Red oval shaped SPECIMEN NO VALUE logo of DELARUE stamped on them on the upper left and lower right with large SPECIMEN diagonally upwards across on both sides in landscape orientation. The No Value logo is over the Numeric Value on the front which is logical but that orientation is not seen on the back

No hole punched on the note as seen on all Specimens from 1951 to 1992?
A specimen control number is stamped on the front lower left margin as SPECIMEN No. NNN.
Normally a bundle of 100 are printed for distribution to local Banks.
