Rice Ration Book

Ceylon Rice Ration Book which must be issued before the Sinhala Only Act of 1956, since the English text is on Top. By comparison to style of other Rice Ration books of known year of issue it was probably used in the late 1940s.

Text in English Sinhala and Tamil which needs to be typed. 





                                         WARNING.
   It is an OFFENCE to posess more than one Ration Book.
   It is an OFFENCE to have in your posession a Ration Book belonging to a deceased person or to anyone
      else, who is not a member of your household.
   It is an OFFENCE to have in your posession loose coupons not attached to a Ration Book duly issued to you.
            PENALTY -- Imprisonment not exceeding 6 months and/or a fine not exceeding Rs 1,500.
            Look after this Ration Book MOST CAREFULLY. If it is lost only a Substitute
                                      Ration Book may be issued.

The Front Cover which would have had the Year and identification of owner is missing.
