Bradbury Wilkinson Essay - date 1964-6-12

A Bradbury Wilkinson Banknote design Essay for a new Back of Rupees Five. The date of essay scribbled on essay board is 1965-6-1. The Rs 5 had statue of Sage Pulasthi as the back Pictorial since 1952. These are designs for backs of Rs 5 notes after the replacement of the SWRD image with statue of Sage Pulasthi subsequent to the UNP victory at the Parliamentary elections held on 1965 March 20th.

Front: Pictorial on right facing Forward left.
At top ශ්‍රී ලංකා මහ බැංකුව in Sinhala. ලංකාණ්ඩුව වෙනුවෙන් නිකුත් කරන ලද මේ මුදල් නෝට්ටුව ලංකාව ඇතුළත ඕනෑම මුදල් ගණනක් ගෙවිම සඳහා නිතියෙන් වලංගුය in few lines. In Sinhala රුපියල් පහයි Thamil ஐந்து ரூபாய் and English Ten RUPEES. The Numeric date 1964-6-12 without leading zero below which Sinhala signature N. M. Perera above මුදල් ඈමති, and Sinhala signature W. Rajapatirana above මහ බැංකුවේ අධිපති Both Date and Signatures are just place holderes as designs were essayed 2 years later in 1966 May after the 1965 victory of UNP. Serial No at lower left and upper right.
Back: On top ශ්‍රී ලංකා මහ බැංකුව in Sinhala, Value in Sinhala රුපියල් Thamil ரூபாய். and English RUPEES. At bottom margin in small script

The back essay was not listed with Auction, or any other found online.

The Gray-scale photographic essay presented as Sepia tone, athough they would hva been Red as in the Rs 5 note of the era.
The notes at xx,xx,xx and xx dpi are displayed at about 50 dpi if assuming height of 1960 notes.
