The Treasury serial number indicated the total number of notes of that series and denomination issued by all banks. The bank serial number indicated the number of notes of that series and denomination issued only by that bank. Large size notes also bore four signatures. Two signatures were those of the Register of the Treasury and Treasurer of the United States and were printed as part of the note's design. The other two signatures were those of the bank's cashier and president, and were individually signed by those officers prior to issuing the note

Inspired by a 2021 Talk on Vignettes on US Banknotes (1861-1928) given by Bruce Smart to IBNS and information I decided to update this webpage on Ceylon Minnesota banknotes I started in 2006. I thank Bruce Smart and Chris Steenerson for their help.
If you own or know any one who owns any of the currency notes from Ceylon MN, I would be extremely grateful to get a 200 dpi or higher color scan of it to be posted on this web-page. Even an Auction listing would be an useful contribution

National Bank Notes are still redeemable by the US Department of the Treasury at their face amount only; however, they most probably have added value in the numismatic market. It's very rare to see one in circulation today, unless one is spent when a collector dies and relatives don't understand their collector value.

I thank George Cuhaj who was curator of the Higgins Museum of National Bank Notes for the 2023 summer season, for sending me the photographic image of the three Ceylon MN $20 notes in their collection.
That completed this website with images of all of the Seven known types from the 10 Types issued by the First National Bank of Ceylon Minnesota. Only Plate Proofs are available for the other three types.
