(CBSL) issued in
for circulation, a 1000 Rupee Currency Note in a series of Notes
was called Sri Lanka Historical and Development.

Note the low serial number
366. The expected 0.2% of 1987 replacement notes is 20,000 for 10M
issue. The higher denomination replacements of these older issues are
more common than the lower. So probably the 1987 Rs 1000 did not use
replacements like the Rs500.

The Central Bank of Ceylon Rs 500, Rs 1000 first issued in 1981 did not
the Picture captions included in other denominations issued from 1982.
They have been included with redesign, changing UV images to new format as well.
The note was scanned at 300 dpi and displayed at 50 dpi.
